Becoming a Queen will be making its fifth festival appearance, this time in the beautiful Caribbean island of Grenada. Located in St. George’s, the 12°N61°W (simply known as 1261) is the latest festival to accept my little (but big) labour of love and I couldn’t be happier, as this will be the Caribbean debut for this very Caribbean film.
As stated on their website, “1261FF21, 1261 Film Festival offers a platform for emerging and established creative voices, expressions, and immersive entertainment from Grenada, the Caribbean, and African Diaspora. We curate innovative and interactive live and virtual experiences through film exhibitions, premieres, post-screening performances, and panels, bringing the 1261 experience and the best in independent film from the Caribbean & African Diaspora to online audiences worldwide.”
Queen will screen on Saturday November 6th, 2021 at 7pm local time, on 1261’s digital Theatre One platform. Tickets for viewers in the Caribbean can be purchased here.
