STITCHING HOME

In her Vancouver atelier, Nigerian fashion designer Oge is a bridge between worlds, using her sewing machine to stitch vibrant, story-rich African textiles into the fabric of her new city. This intimate documentary follows Oge as she becomes a cultural translator, decoding the symbolism of Ankara and Aso Oke fabrics for a local clientele at craft fairs.

Through these interactions, where clothing transforms into wearable declarations of identity, the film captures Oge’s journey of brilliant integration. Stitching Home is a sensory celebration of an artist-entrepreneur who carries home with her, re-weaving it stitch by careful stitch into a beautiful, new, and shared Vancouver tapestry.
